About Us

Founded in Christchurch in 2020, Heron Coffee Roasters started as the next step from running our espresso bar and sister business Empire Coffee in Riverside Market. 

We wanted greater control over the coffee we were serving, so we began roasting ourselves on our Diedrich IR-5 roaster. 

Today, we continue to focus on approachable, high quality single origin coffee roasted for espresso, filter, french press, and everything in between. 

We're locally owned, hands-on every day, and committed to keeping things simple - good coffee, roasted thoughtfully and served well.
